In February, there was a new kitchen installed in Trampoline House, which makes working in the kitchen a lot better for the volunteers and interns. Ahmed is a chef from Syria and came to Denmark in 2015. He has been helping out in the kitchen in Trampoline House for two years and is now the kitchen coordinator on Tuesdays. Together with the rest of the kitchen team Ahmed makes food for the community dinner on the opening nights of Trampoline House, where all the users and volunteers in the house eat dinner together.
Ahmed says: “The new kitchen is so important for this house because we are having so many events with so many guests. The kitchen before was very small and wasn’t prepared for this amount of people, but now it is good, and we are working more professionally.” Ahmed is an experienced chef who has been working in kitchens for 10 years: “The house needs that kind of experience here and the experience of working with people from many places. I am showing people how the new kitchen works, also the cleaning is a lot faster now with the new dishwasher.” He is happy that the new kitchen makes it possible to be more professional when cooking food for all the users and guests in Trampoline House.
